Tell us a little about you and your partner, what you do,  how did you meet, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Ross and I have been together for 8 years, met when we were young working at a supermarket. We went to university together and we were also living together. Some would say we were inseparable. We did everything together. Ross wasn’t always the romantic but he soon learnt, although I must say he did propose on April fools! Luckily I hadn’t connected the dots as I was just so ecstatic about it all. The night he proposed was so beautiful, they sky was so clear you could see all the stars, we took some drinks after dinner down to Omaha beach, sat under the stars and the camera out to take photos of the night , then surprised me by getting on one knee. It was very romantic.

I won’t lie though being together for so long has their ups and downs, and it’s how you work though your problem I think makes you stronger as a couple. It’s never easy and it’s always about listening, compromising and picking your battles but at the end of it love conquers all doesn’t it?

Tell us about your special day, how did you choose the location? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

I had booked about 10 venues for us to go look at over the weekend but we fell in love with Markovina. We chose Markovina because it had the best vision, their gardens and grounds are kept so clean and well maintained. There were so many different onsite locations to chose from in terms of where you’d want to have the ceremony. Mark who took us through really sold it for us, he knew exactly what he was doing and I felt I could rely on him and his team. We had planned for a classic white with greenery wedding theme. A lot of what was on my vision board was white roses, white table cloths, white candles everywhere,  and to contrast it with lots of greenery. I had the likes of olive leaves, Eucalyptus, ruckus and more in our theme. It was almost like a boho chic style but with only using whites and greenery.

The bridesmaids bouquets were the only colours in the theme they were soft pinks/peach to match the colour of their dress.

Tell us about your wedding dress and any tips you have for future brides….

Ladies you’ll know when it’s the one, and don’t be scared to try on different styles. You might surprise yourself because what you think you’ll look good in could be completely different to what you had in mind. The lovely ladies at Jessica bridal definitely know what their doing when they help you pick gowns that would suit your body type.

My wedding I absolutely love! But it was one of those dresses that I never thought I would suit, I said I’d give it a go but didn’t actually think I’d fit it but it was the first dress I tried on and the it was the one! I knew instantly. But kept going and trying on different styles and each were beautiful but I just kept comparing it to the first one I tried and that was the decision for me. It was the one. The detail and the amount of time and work that went into it was just incredible it was stunning!

What was the most memorable moment from the day…

It might be a cliché but when I walked down the aisle and saw him crying it set me off, it was quite an emotional ceremony, lots of happy tears.

Any advice you would like to share with other couples getting married…

Don’t sweat the little things. We had so much drama with the lead up but everything worked out in the end. And if things don’t go according to plan on the day just remember no one else knows what was planned but you!!
