Tell us a little about you and your partner, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

We have been together for nearly 7 years, traveled the world together, moved to New Zealand from the UK and have now settled in New Zealand. I work in HR and Adam is a web developer who owns his own company.

I love that we can be silly together, make each other laugh and our love of pizza and wine. That’s why we chose Italy as the perfect place to get married.

Tell us about your special day, how did you choose the location? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We chose Italy as our location to get married because we had actually never been to Italy before, it was close to the UK for our family and friends to come and we wanted a holiday out of it too. We didn’t even look at the venue, we booked the location through a wedding planner, recommendations and the beautiful pictures we were provided. We booked the villa for 1 week, where all of our close family and friends could stay with us for the week at a beautiful Tuscan villa. We also wanted to make sure we were close to some amazing Italian villages so we could all head out and enjoy the Tuscan sights, wine and amazing Italian food.

Styling – We didn’t have to do much styling, our wedding planner was amazing and had done weddings at the venue before. She recommended that we get an arch with greenery and flowers on it, greenery for the tables, a few fairy lights and that was it. If you pick a beautiful setting you don’t need to style the venue too much.

Setting – The setting was a beautiful Tuscan villa with a castle style tower that was over 1000 years old. When we arrived at the venue, we couldn’t believe that this was where we were going to spend a week with our family and to get married. There was so much history on site, a pool to enjoy and lots of areas where you could take in the beauty of Tuscany. The villa was even on their own wine estate and you could taste wine and olive oil grown on site.

Our favorite details from the day were the flower arches, the beautiful weather, the Tuscan sunset and the amazing food/wine we had for our wedding meal. We also had authentic Tuscan olive oil as our favors, they went down really well.

Tell us about your wedding dress and any tips you have for future brides….

Make sure YOU love the dress, you have to feel amazing in the dress. If you aren’t happy with something, always make sure you voice what you would change. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s good to sort it out. Enjoy the process of trying on your dress, it goes by so quickly. Take lots of pictures to look back on and trust the team at Jessica Bridal to find you your perfect dress. They are seriously amazing! 🙂

What was the most memorable moment from the day?

Most memorable moment from the day was marrying my best friend of course, also being able to share our love with our closest friends and family in a dream location.

Any advice you would like to share with other couple getting married?

I would recommend a wedding planner – We had a lady in Italy that did everything for us. She was there on the day, so we could enjoy the day and relax. She made sure everyone was happy and made sure everything was perfect. I would also say to enjoy every moment, the day goes by so quickly. I just wish I could do it all over again! Enjoy every moment through the wedding planning process (no matter how stressed you feel).
